review on the videos.   Also, this is the
link for the PowerPoint slides that go with the lectures.  This site is very good if you just do not understand your professor’s
explanation, or if you just want to hear an explanation from an alternative source.   If you are taking A&P remotely from a college that does not offer video this will be a
great resource for you. The website for this book has flash cards and practice test. Practice makes perfect!

University of MichiganSelect the link for “Learning Games: - Fun learning including Who Wants to be a Millionaire Doctor, and Anatomy Jeopardy.  Opens a
animated PowerPoint  presentation.  Play as a slide show.  Lots of fun!!  Also, there is much more information on this site, including some videos that shows steps
on how to dissect a human cadaver.  If your stomach can’t take it don’t watch!

Video with very good
explanation of how the heart works.  Presented by a physician, but I would suggest you watch this before take an A&P test on the heart.

Columbia/HCA Virtual BodyThis includes an elaborate presentation of the parts and functions of the human body.  (requires Shockwave plug-in)

DNAThis is a game from nobelprize.org which starts with a short introductions.  Lets you make copies of DNA molecules and find out which organism the genetic
material belongs to! Fun way to learn DNA. This is also a
good link to an article on DNA.  You might want to look at other games on this site by clicking Nobel prize in
Medicine tab.  

The Franklin InstituteResources for Science Learning—Heart and Brain—If you click the unlined links you can view videos of open heart surgery and more.  You
can listen to a healthy and a diseased heart.  Very interesting site.

The  Autonomic Nervous SystemThis was a difficult subject for me, but this put in on a level where I could start to understand it.  This allowed me to progress to a
more complex explanation of the subject.

Flash card exchangeRequires you to set up an account, but it is free. Just search on Anatomy, Pathology, cells, etc, and there are many flash cards to choose
from including terms and labeling. You can also scroll to the bottom of the home page and select the subject from a list. This site has many subjects, and many of
the Flash card have been added by professors from major universities. The site also allows you to add flash cards.  Good study tool!  

Medline Plus -  Sponsored by the National Library of Medicine - Great  anatomy links on this page to  sites that you will recognize such as AMA, National Eye Institute,
etc.  Quick reference that pronounces the big medical terms. Requires Shockwave and QuickTim

Essential Study PartnerThis site is a study partner from McGraw Hill, and is designed to help you reinforce what you learn in their Hole’s Human Anatomy &
Physiology textbook.  It is an interactive study tool that contains hundreds of animations and learning activities from quizzes to interactive diagrams.

University Of Pennsylvania Health SystemsAnimations, tutorials, labeling, and description.  Video available on a variety of subjects.  (requires Shockwave)

Yale university “Atlas of Echo cardiogram - Great view of the heart!  This site also provides thoracic anatomy slides that are very good.

Human Anatomy Online - Interactive site—just click on name of body part and the site zooms into the body part, and shows detailed information about the site in a
text box.

Mayo clinic slide shows

National Cancer Institute site for training cancer registrars—contains interactive anatomy lessons, this site also reviews types of lab tests including normal values,
types of diagnostic scopes and what parts of the anatomy is reviewed with each, and much more.

3-D anatomical slides from MERCK MEDICUS, just click on the body part and click and drag.  Muscles, will disappear, then veins, all the way down to the bone. Pretty
cool!
